While most people will still be recovering from Cinco De Mayo on Sunday, May 6th, why not get your heart pumping and your body moving by running the 2018 Cinco De Mayo Half Marathon/10k/5k?  The Half Marathon is a part of the Oregon Half & Full Marathon Series  and is considered “one of the best spring half marathons in the northwest.”

The swag for this race, brought to you by Terrapin Events, is pretty awesome too. Not only will you receive your commemorative t-shirt and finishers medal, but you will get not one but TWO beers or ciders (it is for Cinco De Mayo, after all.. please remember your ID!) and some food and live music at the post race party. There will also be live music on the course and a lot of race support and aid stations every two miles. After the race is over, celebrate the awards, (trophies for top 3 male/female overall and ribbons for top 3 male/female in age categories for each distance,) as well as prizes, and giveaways.

There’s also a kid’s race (1/2 mile long) which starts and finishes at the finish lines for the adult races. It’s a fun out and back course for the kiddos. Speaking of courses, you can view the 5k, 10k, and Half marathon courses here.

While you are at it, check out the Terrapin Discount Pass, which will save you money on Terrapin races. You’ll get a code to use throughout the year that you can share with friends and family. Check out your options here.

You will not be allowed to run with dogs on the course unless you have a service dog, but jogging strollers are allowed. You may also listen to music, but please keep the volume at a reasonable level and be aware of your surroundings.

Due to the fact that the City of Portland requires events take place in an allotted amount of time, there will be a time limit on race day. All racers will need to run/walk at 15 minutes per mile or faster. If you do fall behind the pace tail car, you will be required to run or walk on the sidewalks, as the roads will be open to traffic behind this car. This also means you must start the race on time, so if you are later than the pace tail car, you must stay on sidewalks until you catch up and pass the car.

Shirts are only guaranteed if you register before April 21st at 11:59PM. If you register after that, you will have to wait until after the race to check for availability of a shirt, and sizes will be limited. So register for this race now while you still can!!
