Celebrate April Fool’s Day with a run up a mountain and back down again. That’s right, Fools Rush is an out and back 5K that starts in downtown Cottage Grove and runs up historic Mt. David and then returns to the start line. This evening 5K is a steep climb with a great view of the south Willamette Valley from the top, making it well worth your efforts. The website also promises a fun surprise to accompany you on your way back down. Interesting . . .
This race is put on by Run CG Run which “supports efforts and resources for the running health of Cottage Grove, Oregon . . . particularly our young runners.” Proceeds from Fools Rush will go to the Cottage Grove High School Jog Club. The funds are used for things like running shoes for high school students, race entry fees for summer high school runners, bark chips for walking/running trails around the high school, and more.
The 5K race course will be open for one hour. Awards will be given to the top overall male and female.
