Find a Long Run and Running Group: RUN CG RUN

We are lucky in Oregon, where there are many local running clubs from Ashland to Portland and everywhere in between. We’re also lucky in that there are people out there who put on free group runs, help with races, and support youth and other cause running and racing programs. RUN CG RUN is one of these clubs.

As a runner and a traveler, I have run in some cool spots and random cities. There are some places where I always seem to find myself in that I never would have even thought about years ago. Cottage Grove is one of those locations. I have a few favorite places to run (mainly the Row River Trail), but CG is a fun place to explore nonetheless. It’s a small and relatively isolated area (20+ miles from Eugene and 50+ from Roseburg), but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a running group to check out. Here’s a little about RUN CG RUN:

RUN CG RUN is a small group of running enthusiasts committed to putting on great events that showcase our little town of Cottage Grove, Oregon. Our runs include the . Proceeds go to Cottage Grove High School’s Job Club. If you’re interested in sponsoring (or volunteering) with us, please send us a message through our Facebook group.

RUN CG RUN puts on three races per year, and money raised goes to support the local community, specifically for young runners.

They have purchased over 12 pairs of running shoes for local high school students, paid for race entries for summer high school runners, partnered with a trucking company to buy bark chips for trails near the high school, among other cool things. This is definitely a group that is doing a lot for the local running community!
