2018 Races on our Radar #7: February 13

Time for an update to the Races on our Radar! This series highlights deals, low-cost races, free group runs, price and registration deadlines, and other things we think runners in Oregon and SW Washington should know about.

We would like to you hear from you, too. If you’re in the know on a race that you think others need to check out, be sure to let us know with our contact form. Tell us what you love about it and be sure to include a link.

We are giving away the book Work In – The Athlete’s Plan for Real Recovery and Winning Results. To enter, tag someone on that post on the Run Oregon facebook page. A winner will be drawn on Tuesday, February 20.

You could win an entry to the 2018 Beaverton Half Marathon, organized by Run With Paula Events. USA Fit Portland is running a sweepstakes, which starts tomorrow (February 14) and ends on March 14. Find out how to enter and read the eligibility requirements here.

Speaking of USA Fit Portland, registration is now open for this marathon training program which will prepare you for a fall marathon or half. Until then, it’s $130 for new members and $110 for returning members for a full marathon training program and $65/$50 for a half marathon training program.

Sign up for the Zena Road Races 9.5-miler, 6-miler, or 3-miler by this Thursday for the best price – $35. Note this is a new time of year for this race and this year it is on Sunday, February 18 outside Salem.

The Brewery Running Series is running in Tualatin this weekend, out of Stickmen Brewing at SW 118th and Herman Roads. I ran this one last year; it’s a pretty flat route and only one road crossing, plus beer.

The Peterson Ridge Rumble on Sunday, April 8, has a price bump coming up on February 28. Until then the 20-miler is $45 and the 40-miler is $55. After, the price jumps $10.

About Kelly Barten (831 Articles)
I started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because I felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. I also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support LOCAL race organizers. I'm a Creighton Bluejay (undergrad) and an Oregon Duck (Sports Marketing MBA), and I live in Tigard with my husband and two kids. My "real job" is working for an incredibly awesome math textbook company doing marketing and production.
