The final race in this season’s PRC Winter 5k Series will be run on Saturday, February 10th, and it comes with a twist: instead of being a regular, timed race, this is a predictor race. After you register, and a few days before the race, PRC will ask you to submit your estimated finish time for the run. If you have participated in the first two events in the series, you might have a pretty good idea, but each day and each run is different, so you may be way off in your guess.
The course of the race is exactly the same as during the first two races. No timing devices, phones, watches, GPS, or music players will be allowed on the course. In the end, the overall and age group winners will be those participants who finish the closest to their estimated finish time. This means that anybody can win this race, and awards cannot start until the last person completes the race. While you wait for awards, you can enjoy delicious breakfast by Stanford Grill, shop the store, try out the varying rollers to loosen your muscles, and socialize with your fellow runners.
