Race Preview: 2018 Couples Classic 5k (Eugene)

For the couples that like to run together, there’s a race in Eugene right before Valentine’s Day that’s fun for all. The 2018 41st Annual Michael DeRobertis Memorial Couple’s Classic 5000 Meter Road Run & Fitness Walk is on February 10th this year, and you and your significant other can do this together! Aww!!

If you chose to run this race in a team, your times will be combined for a total team time. You also have the option of running this individually as you would any other race. There will be awards for the winning team in each co-ed division, the top all-male and all-female teams, and overall male and female individual winners. There will also be an award for the overall wheelchair participants. All registrants will also be eligible for numerous random prizes from the local merchants.

The course, at Emerald Park, will be a “flat and fast course” considered also to be very accurate. It’s a double loop around the residential streets of Eugene, and you can check out the course map here.

Also included in your registration is some yummy Mo’s chowder, baked goods, and refreshments post-race. Even better, if you remember your towel and swimsuit, the dressing rooms, showers and hot tub will be available to you. Lastly, and certainly not least, there will be on-site child care provided by the River Road staff for FREE. I would come on out to do this race for the hot tub and free childcare alone!!

As always, this race benefits a great cause, so go see the Lane Blood Center’s blood-mobile after the race for the Race Blood Drive at the Emerald Park Community Center. You can register to donate on race day or schedule an appointment for a later date/time. Every donation can help up to 3 patients, so please consider helping out.
