Race Preview: 2018 Polar Bear 5k/10k/Half Marathon (Redmond)

Get your run on in 2018 in Redmond with the family friendly Annual Polar Bear 5k/10k/Half Marathon Run/Walk on January 13th.

The Half offers both paved paths and dirt trails in Redmond’s Dry Canyon with very minimal street usage. In fact, there will be a certified flagger at the one street crossing for the half and the 10k course. The 5k and 10k, also along the Dry Canyon, are considered very family friendly courses where all ages and abilities can run or walk and strollers are welcome on the course. All children who participate will get a ribbon when they finish!

The “First Responder 5k Challenge” is another option to consider if you are a Law Enforcement Officer, Fire, First Medical Responder, Wildland Firefighter, or Military personnel in Central Oregon. Teams of 5 can register for this and the fastest combined time in the 5k distance will win bragging rights and get Tommy Bear for the year.

After the race, come warm up inside for a complimentary hot chocolate and coffee at the Polar Bear Expo. There will be a raffle as well as a food and beer garden. The expo is free and open to all, so have your family hang out here where it’s warm while you run if that works better for you!

Your registration for this race will get you a long sleeved race shirt (limited to the first 350 registrants) and a finisher’s medal for the Half. You’ll also get a complimentary raffle ticket for the Polar Bear Expo raffle as well as a swag bag filled with vendor items from the expo. So what are you waiting for?
