So since starting to run at the beginning of this year, I have developed a bad habit – buying too many running clothes. Aside from a few new clothes for work, everything this year I have bought has been clothes for running – tank top, t-shirts, long sleeve shirts, shorts, capris, leggings, socks, and bras! I’m almost to the point where I need to have a separate closet just for all my running stuff! I was delighted to be able to try Prismsport, a bold and bright athletic wear company out of New York that focuses on being high performance and looking great! All of their clothes are totally my style and I love pretty much everything they have for sale. Here are few times I had the pleasure of trying.
Sports bras and I have a complicated relationship – I have a very hard time finding ones that fit me or that look right. But I had no problem with this bra – it was amazing! It wasn’t difficult to get into and it felt great! I really like the pattern, the feel of the material and the straps as well as the slight padding. Made of 88% Polyester and 12% Spandex it felt soft, silky and sleek. The material is naturally wicking, quick drying and has 4 way comfort stretch. Sometimes this design of sports bra can feel really tight on, but this one fit perfectly. And the greatest test (lady runners know what I mean) – getting out of it was a piece of cake and not a 5 minute struggle!
I wore this on two 5 mile runs outside and I had no problems at all – everything stayed in place, no chaffing/rubbing and it felt great overall. This will definitely be put into my sports bra rotation and possible even my new race bra – it’s really THAT comfortable!
I love me some leggings and these ones are fantastic! They are a great pattern, especially with the black sides and they feel amazing to the touch and more importantly, when running in them! These are made of high performance, long lasting fabric that is 83% Polyester and 17% Spandex. Made with flat lock seams, it has a 3 1/2″ wide mid-rise waist, reinforced top seam and also an invisible interior key pocket on the waistband. All of Prismsport bottoms are made with no center seam, for a “discrete silhouette to keep your privates, private” and with the tag line of “Say no to the toe.” Ha!
I wore this also on my two 5 mile runs outside in 40 degrees – the pants kept me warm and didn’t ride up or move around at all like other leggings have the tendency to do. They were very comfortable and I’d even consider wearing these to work on casual Fridays. These leggings are on the more expensive side, but I feel for the quality build, it is well worth the price. I’ll be running around in these a lot!
When I think of a hoodie, I think warm and fuzzy, so I was a little surprised when I pulled this out of the package. It is very lightweight material of performance perforate mesh with natural wicking, quick drying and Prismsport’s 4-way comfort stretch. It features raglan sleeves with thumb holes, kangaroo pockets and a hood that won’t slide off.
I also wore this on my 40 degree runs – I was unsure if it would keep me warm enough, but it did just fine over a tank top – I was not too cold and not too warm. It was not too tight and it moved with me, so I didn’t feel like it was getting all bunched up as I ran. It’s cut in a very flattering slim fit with a slight cowl neckline which I really liked. I didn’t try out the hood, but I’m sure that it does as advertised. I will say that it is quite expensive for a lightweight hoodie, but if I were to get another one, I wouldn’t be disappointed to have it! I think this would make a great top to wear during a race – fashionable and fast!
