Race Preview: 2017 Redmond Turkey Trot 5K&10K

As fall descends upon us, along with heavy amounts of rain fall and potential snow fall, Thanksgiving Day looms near, along with it the immense bevy of turkey day trots and races that happen all over the country. For the first time ever, a race will take place at the Radlands trail system on the east side of Redmond, and is aptly titled the Redmond Turkey Trot. For this runner, the Radlands are a mere mile away from home and represent a favorite local trail to train on.

For those who might be looking for a fun little race to jump into this Thanksgiving, let me share with you a few highlights of this one.

  • The first 200 registered runners are guaranteed a pie.
  • A long sleeve tech shirt is guaranteed for the runners who register by Nov. 16th.
  • Someone will win an all-day lift ticket to Hoodoo for only a $3 donation to Bright Eyes, Bright Future (where 100% of the proceeds of this race are going).
  • Find and catch the “turkey” runner on the trail & pluck a feather before you cross the finish line to win a prize!

When: Thursday, November 23rd starting at 9am. Both races start together with runners splitting off at mile 1.

Cost: 5K = $25. 10K = $30 (through Nov. 20th). Day of race prices: 5K = $30. 10K = $35.
