Go Beyond 2018 Spring Trail Race Series Registration Opens October 26

The Go Beyond Trail Race Series is made up of five races, held every other Wednesday. There is a Fall Series (going on now) which sold out quickly, so you should be ready to sign up early if you want to reserve your spot in the Spring Series.

Go Beyond’s races are favorites for people just getting into trail running, as well as those who run trails exclusively. Even if you’ve never run a race on trail, don’t be intimidated because the organizers and their racers are extremely friendly.

The Spring Trail Race Series will cost $75 (that’s a sweet deal). If you don’t sign up for the Series, but want to try your luck at getting a day-of-spot (only available if anyone no-shows), those will be priced at $20 per person. The Series races are all between 4 and 7 miles, from the junction of Wild Cherry and Leif Erickson trails in Forest Park. (This is near the porta-potties around a third of a mile from the Thurman Gate.) Start time for all races is 6:15p, with bib pick-up available from 5:30p-6p.

Here’s the schedule for the Series (remember, all on Wednesdays):

Race 1 – May 2, 2018
Race 2 – May 16, 2018
Race 3 – May 30, 2018
Race 4 – June 13, 2018
Race 5 – June 27, 2018

After the last race on June 27, there will be an awards part at the Lucky Lab Brewpup on NW Quimby; many participants grab beer after all the races, though – a great chance to try out the various NW Portland breweries and public houses.
