Heiser Farm Race Previews: 2017 Zombie Chase 5K & The Great Pumpkin 5K Cross Country Run (Dayton)

The zombie apocalypse is coming, or so some say.  X-Dog Events give you the opportunity to test out your fleeing skills or perhaps… your zombie skills?   On October 7th at the Heiser Farm in Dayton, OR will be the Zombie Chase 5K!

This 5K race with SOME obstacles allows you to pick whether you want to be a citizen running from a zombie or a zombie chasing after its next meal.  Citizens get a three minute head start on the zombies.  The course is a fairly flat cross country terrain with a few obstacles along the way.  It will go through the Heiser Farm and along the Willamette River and surrounding woods.

If you want to be a zombie, show up a little bit early for face painting!  And come in costume, as the best costume wins a prize. The field is limited to 300 so you can be sure the course won’t be stacked up and crowded with zombies.

After the race, stick around for fun on the farm including a corn maze, train ride and more.  There will be a free beer garden by Widmer brewing and live music to enjoy as well.  Awards will be given to the top finishers in each age and gender category as well as the overall finisher and masters finisher.

This race is also capped at 300 people and will have awards for top finishers in each age and gender category as well as overall finishers and masters finishers.  There is a team option for this event, which is teams of 4 and will be ranked by traditional cross country scoring.  If you choose to do both the Zombie Chase and the Great Pumpkin Race, you will be eligible for the Pumpkin Man award, which is the top finisher of both races.

After the race is a kid’s run.  Registration will be on-site and is Free.  A canned food donation is appreciated and will be donated to the Oregon Food Bank. The kid’s course is a quarter mile of pure cuteness and fun.
