Race Preview: 2017 Echo Sage Trail Run (Echo)
The Echo Sage Trail Run is held annually in the small town of Echo in eastern Oregon. There is something for everyone, as they offer a 5K, 10K, 25K, or 50K run options.
The event begins at the foothills of the Blue Mountains and the trail runs south about 20 miles, just short of the Oregon Trail, to the Umatilla River. The course, while not technical, still offers some moderate hills, but an overall nice, rolling terrain. The event is 100% on private farm land, but they generously have opened the trail to the public for the last 10 years and it is maintained by local bikes clubs/shops and volunteers.
All proceeds from this event benefit a local scholarship for high school students: the Echo/Stanfield Scholarship Fund through Echo Kiwanas. This college scholarship is for graduates either Echo or Stanfield High School.
Come and enjoy the beautiful ridges, trails, fields, and wineries of eastern Oregon!
