Most runners enjoy running as minimalistic as possible. I’m not saying that there isn’t a need for packs or belts, but there is definitely something freeing about carrying as little as possible and going for a quick run. Unfortunately, a problem that exists (especially in my personal experience) is that I HAVE to carry something with me – namely keys. Most of my weekday runs take place while on my work lunch break or while I am travelling, and it necessitates me carrying keys with me – something that is cumbersome and less than ideal. Our newest Kickstarter of the Week is aiming to fix that with the STRYVE Keychain.
The STRYVE Keychain was designed with runners in mind. Their “slim, lightweight, secure, and silent” product assists with providing a product that runners can get behind. In a nutshell, here are some of the benefits:
- No pockets necessary – I don’t know about you, but not all of my running shorts have pockets. And it seems that women’s running tights and shorts don’t have much ability for storage as well. That is all unnecessary here as the keychain fits over the waistband and makes pockets unnecessary.
- No “jingle” – This feature is a benefit both for annoyance and safety. When I hear myself tingling along as my keys are bouncing in my waist pack, I get annoyed at the continual sound and figure it would also be annoying for other people near me. Additionally, I would prefer not to announce to everyone on the road that “hey – if you mug me you will definitely be getting the keys to my car”! Two strong magnets will keep the keychain attached and keep keys from doing their noisy thing.
- Slim – Though we haven’t tested it, the keychain seems small enough to no be burdensome while running. It also seems capable of handling thicker keys and Key Fobs – something that is a necessity for me.
- Other features – Keychains can be a real pain, as your typical design can lead to broken nails as a result of trying to maneuver the stiff rings open. New technology has been created to allow for easy access (thank goodness)! There is also a small internal pocket where you could store some cash. Also
