Race Preview: 2017 Condor 25K Trail Run (Corvallis)

The Condor 25k Trail Run is such a sweet run – in every sense of the word. ‘Sweet’ as in awesome trails, great vibe, and perfect weather. ‘Sweet’ as in the perfect distance; a great intro to trail running but a good challenge for the seasoned regulars. ‘Sweet’ as in a good cause for to help a great community. This year’s event will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017.

This event is held annually in memory of the late Dave “Condor” Bateham, who was well regarded in Oregon’s ultrarunning community. He was not only a great runner, but also generous volunteer to the sport, his neighborhood, his friends, and his family. The proceeds of the event will be donated to the Oregon State University Research Forest fund for trail maintenance and new trail construction.

The course for the event is on beautiful rolling single track trails and a few logging roads snaking through the McDonald Forest (with ~2,600 ft of both gain and descent). There will be three aid stations serving GU, GU Brew, and water.
