The Coffee Shots come in three flavors, (black, caramel, and vanilla,) and they contain 130-150 mg of naturally occurring caffeine. There are no preservatives or pasteurization in brewing and the flavored products have organic flavorings without any added sugars. I tried my first bottle during the Hood To Coast relay, which was a gamble, because anything can happen during those two days and digestional issues are pretty much a given. It was about 3AM and I needed to be alert and ready, so down the hatch it went. I had the vanilla flavor, and it tasted like coffee. This isn’t surprising since the only two ingredients listed are water and coffee, so if you’re more a “I want a splash of coffee with my cup of flavored creamer” type of person, you might want to mix it into something else. It’s recommended that you mix with 2 parts hot or cold water if you want a quick cup of coffee rather than a shot.
I had no issues at all after taking the Bizzy Coffee Shot. I didn’t get any stomach issues or shakiness, and I had none of the feelings people often get after an energy drink of some kind. Bizzy cold brews their coffee so it has a higher caffeine content but less acid, which is easier on the stomach and a great source of energy while training. They brew the coffee stronger than traditional cold brews. I was more alert and I felt like I’d had my morning coffee, which was convenient because I wasn’t going to be able to get coffee any other way that day before I had to run. Honestly, the Bizzy Coffee Shot is perfect for an event like Hood To Coast if you are a coffee drinker.
