Race Preview: 2017 Oktoberfest Road Race in Mt. Angel

The Oktoberfest in Mt. Angel is an annual festival, celebrating the “harvest” in German style. It is celebrating its 52 year, this year. It’s a great festival for family, has great food, beer, music and fun. This year, why not add a race in before you enjoy the festivities, with a 5K or 10K or half marathon with the Oktoberfest Road Race.

The Oktoberfest Road Race 5K/ 10K/ half marathon will feature some of the most scenic and stunning views in Mt. Angel. The race begins at Humpert Park, then on to country roads on the Southside of Mt. Angel. The courses are truly beautiful with views of hop farms and hazelnut orchards. The 10K course will also have an amazing view of Mt. Hood, near Mt. Angel Abby. While the half marathon will feature views of Mt. Hood, Kraemer Pond on Zollner Creek and the Mt. Angel Abbey.

The race takes place on Saturday September 16th at 9am, while the half marathon starts at 8am. Finishers will receive a commemorative beer pint glass and a complimentary beverage. T-shirts will be available for purchase. There will also be awards for the top 3 finishers, and the first in each age group will receive a limited edition commemorative Oktoberfest Hat Pin (half marathon participants will receive one with their race entry). Half marathon participants will also receive a entry wristband for Saturday to Biergarten, Alpinegarten & Weingarten.

When: September 16th, 8am half marathon start time, 9am 5K/ 10K start time

Where: Humpert Park, 400 Alder Street, Mt. Angel OR

Entry Fee: 5K/ 10K $30 until September 13th, then will increase to $35

                 Half marathon $75 until September 13th, then will increase to $80
