This week’s Portland Marathon Clinic free long run is another 20-miler, this one starting from Mountain Hardwear at 722 SW Taylor St. in downtown Portland. There are some parking garages nearby if you are driving to the run. The store will open at 7:30a, but the bathroom line will likely be long so please take care of business ahead of time if you can.
This weekend’s run is an out-and-back along Terwilliger Blvd and into Lake Oswego. It’s quite a nice route that makes it all the way to Old River Road (which is on the Up the Lazy River 10k course) before turning back. There are restrooms at George Rogers Park near the turnaround, and a drinking fountain; but you should come prepared with hydration and nutrition as you plan to use on race day.
As always, the run starts at 8a. Arrive by 7:45a to ensure you find the right pace group and are ready to go.
You also need to note that you have only one more week to buy tickets to the September 9th Brunch Run. Tickets are $10 per person and can be bought online here or at the run this Saturday or next Saturday (September 2). The Brunch Run is a point-to-point 20 miler that starts at an undisclosed location to which runners are bussed. The Brunch Run’s busses leave Willamette Park in John’s Landing at 7:30a, making for a slightly earlier morning than most PMC runs.
