Race Preview: 2017 Twisted Pine Run – 5 mile, Half and Full Marathon (Newport)

Do you want to run along the ocean AND through trees on a full marathon, half marathon or rare 5 mile course? Then you need to check out the Twisted Pine Run in September in Newport, Oregon!

This race had just 30 racers in its inaugural race last year, but so far this year, they are boasting much larger numbers as word has spread about this cool race. This year they have also added a full marathon distance to the race options already available to choose from. All races start and end in South Beach State Park and all courses are a mix of trails, pavement and about .5 mile for the 5 milers and 1.5 miles for the half/full marathoners is on the beach/sand! Courses are fast and flat and you will get to have beautiful views of the Yaquina Bay, Yaquina Bay Bridge, South Beach Marina, and the Pacific Ocean as you get your new race PR! Woohoo!

All finishers receive a medal as they cross the finish line. Then it’s on to the live music, free food, raffle prizes and the awards ceremony to see the top 3 male and female overall for each race receive their medals and age group winners receive their ribbons.
