Small Race Preview: 2017 Sublimity Harvest Festival Road Run and Walk

The annual Sublimity Harvest Festival is a festive September weekend that started 44 years ago in 1973. Included in this 3 day festival for the last 39 years is the Sublimity Harvest Festival Road Run and Walk. This fun run has 3 distances to choose from: 10,000 meters, 5,000 meters and 3,000 meters. For those of you who, like me, have no idea how those distances translate, I Googled it: 10,000 m = 10K, 5,000 m = 5K, and 3,000 m = 3K.

This events starts at Sublimity Grade School. Fitting, since the proceeds from this race go to the Sublimity Grade School Parent Teacher Club. If you are racing on a budget, this is a bargain at just $10 (if pre-registered,) and kids 12 and under are free!

After the race stick around for a parade, tractor pulls, monster trucks, live music, and more. The festival is Friday through Sunday, so you can make a weekend of it and enjoy all the festival has to offer. (See festival schedule here.) This is a great chance to get in a race and check out a long-standing small town tradition. Don’t miss out!
