Race Preview: 2017 Seaside Beach Run (Seaside) – DISCOUNT CODE

The 51st annual Seaside Beach Run takes place this year on Saturday, July 15th at the 12th Ave beach access at the North Promenade in Seaside. The event offers an option for all levels of speed and endurance: There’s the 10k or 5k beach run, the 5k race walk, the untimed 5k Prom Walk, and a kids sand dash. The timed race walk starts off the day with an 8:45am start on the promenade, followed by the untimed walkers at 8:50. The 5k/10k runners and walkers are then escorted down onto the beach to the start line for the running events. The course is easy to follow: Head one direction along the edge of the water until you reach the turnaround point, then head back the way you came.

At 10:30, after most participants have finished their race, the kids will have their sand dash on the beach, followed by the treasure hunt for kids under 12 years old. The kids events are free, but pre-registration helps the organizers plan for the right number of kiddos. As part of the post-race party, enjoy a family barbecue on the beach. Awards will be given to the top finishers overall and in age groups.

This annual event is produced by Fit To Be Teens, Inc. — a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charitable organization. Net proceeds of all of Fit To Be Teens, Inc. charitable events go to provide fitness opportunities for Clatsop County middle and high school students, including gym memberships and fitness assessments, especially for teens not involved in competitive sports.
