Portland Marathon Clinic Free Long Run for Saturday, June 17, 2017

This week’s Portland Marathon Clinic free long run will start from Mountain Hardwear at 722 SW Taylor in downtown Portland, at the usual time of 8a.

The distances this week are 12, 14, and 16 miles – time to start testing out your race-day planned nutrition, hydration, and gear! The PMC has organized for two aid stations to be the course which runners will pass twice.

This Saturday’s route will head primarily south and then turn back on the same route. The first mile will be on the way to Terwilliger, and just past 3.5 miles the route crosses Highway 10. The route follows on the trail and sidewalks next to Terwilliger, with the 12-milers turning around before entering Tryon Creek Park. The 7-mile turnaround (for those running the middle distance) is in the Park, while those running 16 will get nearly all the way to Highway 43 near downtown Lake Oswego before heading back.

As usual, come prepared for the weather – including clothes to change into after the run – and your own food and drink for the run. Remember to thank you all-volunteer pace group leaders and have a great time!

About Kelly Barten (1151 Articles)
I started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because I felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. I also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support LOCAL race organizers. I'm a Creighton Bluejay (undergrad) and an Oregon Duck (Sports Marketing MBA), and I live in Tigard with my husband and two kids. My "real job" is working for an incredibly awesome math textbook company doing marketing and production.
