Portland Marathon Clinic Free Long Run for Saturday, June 3, 2017

You read that right: June! It’s already June, and that means the Portland Marathon Clinic is starting to ramp up the mileage. If you are training for a fall marathon or on pace with this type of mileage, join them!

This week’s run is starting from Main City Park at 219 S. Main Avenue in Gresham. The mileage options are 10 miles, 12 miles, and 14 miles; all will start together at 8a. When you arrive, find your pace group. As you reach the 10-mile turnaround, everyone will do an about-face and head back to the start area. Those running 12 will continue on for a mile past the start point, and those running 14 will need to run 2 more past the start.

The PMC needs volunteers to help out at the training run aid stations. They encourage all PMC participants to volunteer once over the summer (and do their long run on Sunday instead); but even if you’re not involved with PMC you can help out. To do so, click here.

The route itself is along the Springwater Corridor, heading primarily west towards the I-205. The 5-mile turnaround is just past running by (not up) Powell Butte Park.

We started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. We also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support local race organizers.
