Small Race Previews: 2 races with a heart for recovery

On Saturday, May 20th, you have 2 ways to support organizations who provide much needed help to those who are in recovery from addiction or those who affected by domestic violence.

In Redmond, the Alano Club is an all volunteer organization that helps thousands of people through 12-step programs for addiction recovery. The Alano Club hosts their annual Run for Recovery 5K/10K/Kid’s Fun Run and Silent Auction in order to fund all of their amazing work. The race takes place on the Dry Canyon trail and starts and ends at American Legion Park.

You can register for the Redmond Run For Recovery here. Both races start at 9am.

In Hillsboro, Abuse Recovery Ministry & Services (ARMS) is a multi-faceted organization that helps whole families recover from domestic violence but also has classes designed to teach and create awareness for the sake of domestic violence prevention. As a way to help fundraise for free services for those suffering from and recovering from domestic violence, the Stomp Out Abuse race was formed. There is a 5K and a 10K which can either be run or walked. Families are encouraged to participate together.

Registration for Stomp Out Abuse race here. Both races start at 9am.
