Small Race Previews: 2017 Running Dirty 5k Obstacle Race (Boring, OR) and BLT Cheadle Lake 5k/10k (Lebanon, OR)

If you are looking for a fun Obstacle Race this Spring that is fun for the whole family, come on down to Liepold Farm in Boring, OR on May 7th for the East Wind Running Company’s Running Dirty 5k Obstacle Race.

There will be 10-15 obstacles for this fun 5k which are kept secret until a few days before the race. There will even be a couple of obstacles that will remain hidden until you are out there on race day, so if you like surprises, this is the event for you. In addition to the regular 5k, there is a Junior’s Race which follows the same course for kids from ages 9-15. Kids can choose to skip obstacles and take a penalty if they don’t want to complete all of them. There is also a free children’s race! There will be multiple waves of 30 participants every 15 minutes to avoid overcrowding at the start line and the first wave will begin at 9:00AM.

So get good and dirty and have some fun while you’re out there!

This race is for a good cause, as all proceeds go to Build Lebanon Trails  (the “BLT” in the title refers to this instead of the sandwich.) This organization is dedicated to planning and promoting the development of over 50 miles of fully accessible multi-use trails in Lebanon to be used for anything from hiking to walking to bicycling, or just getting moving in general.

The race takes place at beautiful Cheadle Lake Park in Lebanon and the course is mostly flat. Runners will follow a loop beside Cheadle Lake and through Cheadle Lake Park.
