Hey runners wanna get lost (just kidding)?! The Lost Lake 50k and 25k races are back in 2017 after 9 years of the 50k and 4 for the 25k. If you’re looking for a challenging, yet beautiful Pacific Northwest Wonderland trail race, then this may be the one for you.
The race starts at the base of Chuckanut mountain (Larrabee State Park Lost Lake Day Use parking lot) in Bellingham, WA. The race looks as if it will feature some of what Northern Washington has to offer, including beautiful views of Mt. Baker as well as the San Juan Islands to the west. But beautiful views sometimes require some challenging climbs, and this is surely the case with 8,000+ feet of elevation gain in the 50k. No pain, no gain right?! I personally love a good challenge, especially if it comes with some rewarding views.
The 25k will also have some challenging climbs, with 1,400 ft of climbing in just over 2 miles, It takes place on the last half of the 50k course and will showcase views at rocky Raptor Ridge Lookout and also run around Fragrance Lake.
