Race Preview: 2017 Tabor Challenge 5k

I would venture a guest that the majority of Portland-based runners are probably familiar with running at Mt. Tabor. The trails, hillwork, and ultimately, the views are worth the trip. The Tabor Challenge 5k, back for its third year on April 8th, will put runners on the upward climb at this iconic running location.

There is no support during the race, so plan on bringing your own hydration if you think you may need some. Dogs are allowed, as are strollers (keeping in mind that trails can be narrow and stairs are involved). There will be an alternative shorter route on the road for those who choose this option.

The event benefits the Thomas Cameron college scholarship program, which provides scholarships for exemplary academic and athletic high school students. Packet pick-up is available from 3-7pm on Friday, April 7th at LTJG Thomas J Cameron Memorial Field on 31st between Powell and Franklin Streets.

There will be an after party at Migration Brewing beginning at 7pm on the night of the race. Follow the race on Facebook for ongoing info.
