Looking to get a run in before St. Patty’s Day? How about doing a race in The Dalles that is also a fundraiser for the Colonel Wright physical education program? The Jumpstart St. Patrick’s Day River Run/Walk is a great option if you are wanting to do a 3k, a 5k, or a 10k run or walk on March 11th.
This race begins at Lewis & Clark Festival Park and follows an “out and back” loop on a flat paved trail with views of the Columbia and The Dalles waterfront. There is water available on the trail for the 10k option and there will be mile markers so you don’t get lost. Word on the street is that bagpipers could be on hand to provide some race entertainment as well. Medals will be presented to the top three overall male and female winners and ribbons will go to the top three in each age group.
If you opt out of the shirt, the cost is only $8 for pre-registration and all district 21 elementary (k-5) students get free registration (shirt not included.)
So come on out for an affordable small race that’s flat and fast and spend some time exploring the historic Dalles area while helping out the elementary school at the same time!
