Race Preview: 2017 Lucky Clover Road/Trail 5k/10k (Springfield)

Level 32 Racing organizes several road and trail races in and around Eugene, and its Lucky Clover race is unique in several ways. This year’s event takes place on St Patrick’s Day – Friday, March 17th, at Dorris Ranch Park in Springfield with a 5:30pm start time. There are three events to choose from: A 5k road race run/walk, a 5k trail race run/walk, and a 10k road/trail run, which covers both 5k courses in the order of the runners’ choosing.

The 5k trail course takes participants on a loop through Dorris Ranch Park and adjacent orchards. The running surface is bark chips and dirt paths. The 5k road course is an out-and-back on the paved Middle Fork multi-use path. Before the start, 10k participants choose which of the two 5k courses they will complete first, and have to pass through the designated transition area to their second 5k run before crossing the finish line.

After the race, enjoy some Irish food served on site at the finish, and stay for awards (top finishers overall, three deep in age groups) and raffle prizes. Later, join the post-party at The Abbey Claim 52 Taproom in Springfield.
