February: Forget the Weather and Focus on being Fabulous

fabulous-februaryCome February, many runners in Oregon are about ready for the rain, cold wind, and occasional ice storm to be done. Especially this year. There are a few races that embrace the weather (Hagg Mud, the Heartbreaker Half, and My Muddy Valentine to name a few), but for the most part, races are more fun when you’re not soaked and muddy. And let’s not even get into the frustration felt by those training for a spring marathon and hitting their peak mileage right about now …

So, Run Oregon is going to be “running” two features during February:

FORGET FEBRUARY posts will highlight Run Oregon bloggers’ favorite fair-weather runs and races. We want to tell people your favorites, too – just email us through our contact form with the race name and what you like about it. Be sure to include your name so we can thank you for the heads up!

FABULOUS FEBRUARY posts will give you ideas for small things you can do (or not do) related to running, healthy living, and leaving stress behind. These are meant to be things you could incorporate into your life easily – pick the ones that look good to you and see how it works out! Again, share your tips with us through out contact form!

Before you know it, you’ll be turning the calendar page and then the Shamrock Run will be right around the corner. So let’s get through this together!

About Author

We started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. We also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support local race organizers.
