The races start and end at Cascade Jr High School on Marion Rd, and all three distances follow the same out and back course, with different turnaround points, of course. The 2-mile runners will still (almost) be within sight of the school when they reach their turnaround, the 10k goes three country blocks before the turn, and the half marathoners will be almost to Aumsville before heading back again the way they came. The course is paved and flat and will show runners beautiful countryside.
The race is open to runners and walkers of all abilities. However – the half marathon course is only closed to traffic for three hours (until noon), and if you choose the early start time, you will not be in consideration for overall, masters, and age group awards! The half marathon awards ceremony is slated to start around 11:30am. Awards will be given three deep in customary five-year age brackets for women and men.
As a bonus, runners will have access to the middle school’s locker room, so if you’d like to get showered after your race, don’t forget to bring a towel.
