Race Preview: Ugly Sweater Runs in Vernonia and Medford

The 3rd Annual Vernonia Ugly Sweater Run will be held on December 3. This flat and fast 5K will take runners and walkers (and their ugly sweaters) around Vernonia Lake.

There will be prizes for ugliest sweater, so make sure you dig out that sweater that Aunt Edna gave you, or try your luck at a 2nd hand store, or create your own! This is your chance to win for looking ugly. What’s not to like about that?

This race starts at Anderson Park (450 Jefferson Ave, Vernonia) at 9:00 A.M. and is just $20.

The Medford Ugly Sweater Run is on December 17. This untimed 5K partners with Jackson County Foster Parent Association. A portion of all race entries will go to help meet the needs of foster children in the community. The purpose of the JCFPA is to benefit and improve the quality of life for children that are involved in the foster care system. The JCFPA provides meaningful support for foster, adoptive and relative families. They encourage and promote community awareness, work to improve education/training and communication between foster, adoptive and relative families and child welfare agency staff as well as other community entities. The JCFPA encourages recruitment and retention of foster, adoptive, and relative homes. JCFPA is dedicated and committed to enhancing benefits and programs made available to all foster, adoptive and relative families.

Make sure to dig out that ugly sweater and get registered for this festive run. The race begins at 9:00 A.M. in downtown Medford (101 S Bartlett St.) Afterwards enjoy the protein pancake breakfast provided by Max Muscle. The Medford Ugly Sweater Run and Walk is $25 for adults and $10 for kids.
