Race Preview: 2016 Mosier Twin Tunnels Turkey Trot (12k / 5k / 3k)

If you haven't run on the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail, you are sorely missing out. This is probably my go-to running spot when I am in the Hood River area. It's just a beautiful location, complete with gorgeous panoramas, paved trails, and amazing scenery. The Mosier Twin Tunnels Turkey Trot, which takes place on Thanksgiving Morning along this trail, may just be the most scenic Turkey Trot in the state.

The course is simple and straightforward. It beings at the Hood River end of the Historic Columbia River Highway Trail and continues east along the meandering path towards the Historic Twin Tunnels. Each distance is an out-and-back and runners will finish back at the start. We don’t have a race map to reference, but believe that previous incarnations of this race have had ONLY the 12k getting to the tunnels, with the others stopping short. Keep that in mind! Dogs and strollers are allowed and the race benefits Mosier Community Schools.

Lastly all adults that walk, run, or ride to start line (not drive) will get $5 off their day of registration!
