All three distances start and end at Ester Short Park in downtown Vancouver. It’s a great location for a race start/finish since there is plenty of room to move around, and lots of parking (free on Sundays) on surrounding streets and parking structures. The 12k and half marathon start first at 9am, and the 5k run and walk at approximately 10am. The course for the 12k and half marathon starts taking runners eastward to run through Fort Vancouver’s Officer’s Row, past the old Fort, across the pedestrian bridge to the river and back near Ester Short Park around mile 3. From there, runners head westward towards Vancouver Lake to their respective turnaround points before finishing back where they started. The 5k course starts the same way and at mile 3 heads straight north back to the finish, skipping the westward jaunt altogether.
After your run, you can enjoy food and drink, hot chocolate, and hot buttered rum (for those of age). Awards will be given to overall top three finishers male and female in each distance, as well as age group awards for the top three in each age group.
