[T]o provide a venue to thank the men and women that have served or are currently serving in our nation’s military during the week of Veterans Day (November 11th). To this end, we provide discounted pricing to our Veterans and active-duty military participants as well as discounted pricing for spouses of our Veterans. Your participation also allows us to make this event available to service members worldwide for the same discounted price as those serving in the States.
We also donate a portion of the proceeds from our events to honorable military charities. Donations from prior years’ events have included the Wounded Warrior Project, Folds of Honor, Operation Gratitude, Team Red White and Blue and numerous local veterans charities in the cities we have events.
This race has an unusual start time – 3:11 p.m., on November 12. If you haven’t raced on Mt. Tabor before, be prepared to tackle lots and lots of hills. It’s unlikely that you’ll set a PR, but you will likely feel an immense amount of satisfaction when you’ve finished. Besides the support of a good cause, registered runners receive the following:
-
Pre-race ceremony honoring veterans
-
Colorful event bibs
-
-
-
Finisher’s ribbon for 1-mile and supporters
-
Finish-Line refreshments
-
Post race awards ceremony
-
Fun, festive atmosphere before and after the run
Race distances include 1 mile, 5K, 11K, and half marathon.
