Race Preview: 2016 Kevin’s Cup 8k (West Linn)

Trail races are a fun way to get away from pounding the pavement and instead enjoying parks and nature. The 25th annual Kevin’s Cup 8k race takes place at Mary S Young Park in West Linn on Saturday, November 12th. This year the theme is “The Year of the Very Bad Santa,” and while costumes aren’t required, there will be a costume contest.

This nasty lil’ trail serves up a variety of challenges… mud, creeks, trails, brutal ankle twisting switchbacks, bone-jarring down-hills,  lung-searing up-hills and more.  If you are looking for some cutesy downtown commercial road race… save the coin.
If you enjoy the eye watering, sweat dropping, and snot flying challenge that this course will promise — then… risk the skinned knee, scraped elbow, and damaged ego and run it.

Every participant will receive a commemorative pint glass and is eligible for raffle prizes from vendors and race supporters. Awards are given to overall and age group winners. After the race, join the after-party at Roundtable Pizza, less than a mile away from the start/finish.
