Go Beyond Racing presents two beautiful race courses in the Tillamook Forest on October 15. The Elk-Kings 25K and 50K are part of the Northwest Mountain Trail Series.
The 25K is a steep and technical trail run that summits both Elk and Kings Mountains. With 5,800 feet of elevation gain, this scenic race will be a challenging one along single track trail.
The 50K runs along the Wilson River and is less technical. With 6,500 feet of elevation gain, this double out and back loop will still present a challenge. This course is also on single track trails.
Aid stations are stocked with Honeystinger gels, Glukos, chips, PB&Js, gummy bears, fruit, M&Ms, cookies, crackers, and other typical ultra fare. This is a cupless race, so be sure to bring your own container for liquid at the refill stations.
The top 3 male and female racers will be receiving prizes from some of the race sponsors. There will also be random prizes given out on race day.
There will be a post-race Bar-B-Que for racers and volunteers. Racers may purchase meal vouchers for any guests brought out to cheer you on.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to the Mazamas, a non-profit mountaineering education organization located in Portland.
