Some runners like to run for beer. At 100-150 calories per can of beer (versus about 100 calories burned per mile run, for an average weight person), a lot of miles can equal a lot of beers.
Then there is the fabled Beer Mile. 1 mile (4 laps). 4 beers. No vomiting.
If four beers (during the run) sounds like a bit much, you can try the 2d Annual Beer Mile Run. You chug a beer before the race, then run a mile through downtown Lebanon, and then get to relax and drink more beer.
Proceeds benefit the great kids at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Santiam.
Obviously, you must be 21 or older to participate in the race.
