The 14th annual Scotty Brown Memorial “Muddy” Run and Walk takes place near North Bend on the Southern Oregon Coast on Saturday, August 20th at 10am.

Roy Mollier has put on a memorial run each fall to remember a runner who went to NBHS named Scotty Brown who sadly died at the age of 42. The NB Cross Country team attends it every year. Doctors, teachers, nurses and many runners join the fun run. It is a non-timed run and emphasizes camaraderie and the joys of running. Each year he makes or improves on a local trail that few of the runners have ever run before. It is not a race but a chance to enjoy the local countryside and their fellow friends and team mates. A social gathering is held after the run with refreshments.

This trail run is an out and back course that is located in William M Tugman State Park. It is up to six miles long, but you can choose to turn around at any point.

The run is untimed, free of charge, and encourages running just for the fun of it and to enjoy time with your friend. Dogs are welcome, and refreshments will be served afterwards.
