This event is the first in the Oregon version of the Brewery Running Series – a series of races that is pretty big in other states across the country (specifically, Minnesota and Colorado). Here is what the series is all about:
The Brewery Running Series started in Minneapolis in 2012 by Nate Herrington and Morgan Jappe. They wanted to combine their favorite things – being active, drinking beer, and supporting their community. Turns out, a few thousand other locals share those same interests! A few years and tens of thousands of beers and miles later, they decided to branch out. When two friends, who were connected to the series, relocated within a year of each other to Portland, they all decided to see if the Rose City, a craft beer and running oasis already, would be a good place to reproduce what they experienced in Minneapolis.
The next Brewery Running Series race looks to be coming up later this year with Rogue (though details are still TBD).
Not only does the Baerlic Brewing Company Beer Run benefit local non-profits, but all participants receive a complimentary beer from Baerlic, and a pint glass or other local stuff.
