Portland Marathon Clinic run for June 25, 2016

Join the Portland Marathon Clinic this Saturday, June 25, for an 13, 15 or 16- mile run starting from their sponsor ClubSport location!

This week’s route is a real treat. You will start out running north on Lower Boones Ferry before zipping over to the Fanno Creek Trail at the Tigard Library via SW Durham and SW 79th Ave. From there, you will run on the trail, including the new section north of George Morlan Plumbing.

Near mile 4.5 there is a porta-potty in Woodard City Park. Don’t count on the drinking fountain being on, though.

Continuing on Fanno Creek, everyone will run under SW Scholls Ferry Rd. Those going 13 miles will turn back before the “tractor”, which is about halfway between Scholls Ferry and Hall. A slight detour from the main trail will take the side trail at the tractor, run to and around Greenway Park, and then back to Fanno Creek. The turnaround for the 15-milers will be just slightly north of there, near the playground up on the hill. And the runners going 16 miles will cross Hall Blvd safely at the pedestrian crosswalk before turning around.

We started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. We also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support local race organizers.
