Uberthons staged a new race, the Chocolatathon, on Mother's Day weekend this year. (There's also the Mommathon, which took place in February of last year and this year.)
Now it's the turn of dads all over, with the inaugural Daddython, which will take place at Cook Park on June 18. It's a 5K(no 10K option), with two options for kids: a timed 1 mile race, and an untimed 1/4 mile kid's dash. And after running, you get a hearty breakfast! As with all Uberthons races this year, there is a finisher's medal in the form of a belt buckle, plus gold, silver, or bronze pins for age/gender group winners.
My recap of the Chocolatathon should give a good idea of what Cook Park is like (parking, amenities, and the race course). Just replace chocolate treats with breakfast foods (past Uberthons breakfast spreads have included pancakes, bacon, potatoes, and more). But wait, there's more!
There’s a new mini-contest for this race. All fathers will be assigned in groups of 10 based on registration date to teams, which will compete for gift cards to the Cheesecake Factory. (Hmm, I should see when Brian Bernier is going to be registering….)
