Race Preview: 36th Annual Rhody Run 10K/5K 5/21/16 (Florence, Ore.)

The 109th Rhododendron Festival in the charming coastal town of Florence, Oregon, takes place May 20 through May 22, 2016. As a part of this magnificent festival, there is a 10K and 5K run taking place. The 36th running of the Rhody Run will occur Saturday, May 21, 2016, at 9 a.m. The event starts and finishes at the Florence Events Center. Both the 5K and 10K will feature a rolling, out-and-back course on paved surfaces.

The entry fee is $10 for either distance, without a shirt. If you wish to commomerate your race (I always do), you may chose to register and receive a cotton shirt for $18, or register and receive a technical shirt for $25. Same day registration will be available for an additional $5.

Stick around after the event for the awards ceremony, taking place at 10:15 a.m. Random prize drawings will be up for grabs, as well as overall and age group awards distributed for both distances.

Of course, after the run, be sure to check out the other awesome events taking place as part of the 109th Rhododendron Festival. You can certainly make a day of it!
