The 33rd Annual Silverton Health Fun Run offers a healthy way to celebrate Mother’s Day with a 5K road race and one-mile kid’s run. Held on Saturday, May 7th, this event was started in 1983 by local physician, Michael Grady, M.D. and attracts close to 800 participants. The race starts and finishes at the Silverton Health Family Birth Center at 342 Faiview Street in Silverton.
Kids 10 and under can run the One Mile Run that begins at 8AM and costs $15- without a t-shirt or $20 with a t-shirt (plus a small service charge). There will be a warm up for the children’s event that begins at 7:50AM at the starting line. An additional warm up will start at 8:30AM in preparation for the 5K Run/Walk that starts at 8:45AM and costs $15-without a t-shirt or $20 with a t-shirt (plus a minor service charge). Awards will be given to the first finisher in each age category, both male and female.
Bibs can be picked up early at the hospital in the Community Services area or on race morning. All participants are required to wear their bib on the front of their shirt. There are plenty of ways to register for this event, the easiest being online. Register in person Monday through Friday from 8:30AM-4:30PM at the Silverton Hospital Services Center (319 Fariview Street). Mail in registration is available and must be received by May 4, 2016. Day-of-registration is available for $20 –without a t-shirt or $25 with a t-shirt. Register race morning at the white tent between 6:45AM-7:45AM. Complimentary snacks will be provided from 7:30AM-10:00AM
