Small Race Preview: 2016 Stayton River Run (10k & 5k) – Only $10!

Sometimes we all just need a little low-key running in our lives. The 5th Annual Stayton River Run, coming up on April 30, 2016, can fill that void quite well. This event is low-key AND low-cost, at only $10 per runner in both the 5k and 10k distances. But any race that has stuck around for half a decade has surely worked out some kinks over time, irregardless of being a professional event.

The 5k and 10k courses both feature some city running, coupled with a loop on trails near the river. Despite its humble cost and small-town feel, more than 150 runners competed in last year's event. Once again, the event is organized by the Stayton Elementary Parent Teacher Club, which raises money to support the Stayton Elementary students and schools.
