Find a long run for this (or any) weekend: April 9-10, 2016

Greetings from the PMC team: Diane, Dee, Warren, Katie, and Patti. Lots of marathon and sports science knowledge between all those fit folk.

This is a post to share info on free and open group runs happening around Oregon this weekend. If you've got one that you'd like us to share, please email us from our "Submit a Guest Post" link! (You don't have to write a post - just the facts.) Saturday, April 9, 2016 Portland Marathon Clinic is back! Starting this Saturday, the PMC's free group runs will help those gearing up for a fall marathon (like Portland!). You do not have to be registered for or even planning to run a fall marathon or half marathon to attend these runs, simply show up and sign the waiver. Their runs are led by experienced pace group leaders for marathon goal times of sub-3 to 5 hours. This weekend's run starts at 8a from Mountain Hardwear at 722 SW Taylor in Portland. Mileage for this weekend is your choice of 4, 6 or 8 miles; the course will showcase Portland's amazing cherry blossom trees along the waterfront

Sunstone Running Club will be running this weekend as well, as usual, and everyone is invited, as usual! There are two start times for their run, so your total mileage can be 5 miles, 10 miles, or 15 miles. First, a group will start at 7a for this five-mile loop. Then, they will regroup for their second start time of 8a for this ten-mile loop. Their run starts at Sexton Mountain Elementary. For more information and the latest updates, visit the Sunstone Running Club facebook page.

About Kelly Barten (1152 Articles)
I started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because I felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. I also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support LOCAL race organizers. I'm a Creighton Bluejay (undergrad) and an Oregon Duck (Sports Marketing MBA), and I live in Tigard with my husband and two kids. My "real job" is working for an incredibly awesome math textbook company doing marketing and production.
