Small Race Preview: 2016 Dirty Du

dirtyeventfp Time to get some mud on the tires after a winter spent on the treadmill? Luckily, the upcoming Dirty Du and Dirt Dash that will help you get those trail shoes, and (optional) your bike, dusted off and coated in fresh mud to kick off the unofficial start of the outdoor running season.   Get your gear and head out to Hagg Lake for what looks to be some good, very dirty, fun.  Since this is a duathlon,  snag your best pal and duke it out for who wants which leg of the relay: the 14 mile bike ride, or the 5 mile run. Even if you can’t recruit anyone to join you, you can still get in plenty of dirt wearing fun by doing the whole relay solo, or just the good part (the running).

Both courses will follow portions of the Hagg Lake perimeter trail and promise to get you good and gross, so no matter what you choose you’re likely to have fun. And if you’re feeling pretty motivated, you can take on the relay solo, too. We like options.

In X-Dog Event form, the course should be challenging and, weather allowing, let you experience some of the scenic area around Hagg Lake.  It may also be a great primer if you’re not quite up to the level of some of the other X-Dog events out there, so they consider this your entry level mud challenge run.
