If you like to run and read, you should check out this race: The Book-it! 5k Walk/Run in Halsey, OR, is a fundraiser for the city library, taking a page from other Book-it! events around the country. The race is set for Saturday, April 23rd, and features an out-and-back course on Seefeld Drive, starting and finishing at the library.
There will be awards for the top three finishers, and T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered by April 2nd. The cost is $20 for adults 18 and older, and $10 for youth 17 and under (add $5 for a shirt). The day of race price is $25 for everyone, with shirts not guaranteed. All proceeds support the Halsey City Library.
