Race Preview: 2016 Corvallis Half Marathon and 5K

The 2016 Corvallis Half Marathon and 5K are coming up in mid-April, with the 5k on Saturday, April 16th, and the half marathon on Sunday, April 17th. The Oregon State Beavers football team's spring game will kick off soon after the finish of the 5k on Saturday, so expect a festive orange and black weekend! The courses provide runners with a tour of the Oregon State University campus as well as other neighborhoods and a taste of the rural countryside just outside of town. The 5k is almost entirely flat, while the half marathon course includes a couple mild hills. 5k runners get to run across and through a covered bridge on the way back. Both races finish between Gill Coliseum and Reser Stadium, a highly appropriate conclusion to a Corvallis athletic event! Chip timing, bag check, and a post-race beer garden are all included. Hopefully, the cold, rainy storm that timed itself perfectly for the start of last year's 5k will hold off this year!
