REI $15 Trail Run Series returns to Champoeg State Park and Silver Falls State Park this spring

Silver Falls State Park

Hey, $15 is a great price for a race. So check out these two events recently announced by REI as part of their nationwide trail run event series: Saturday, April 16, 2016: REI Trail Run Series Champoeg State Park The race itself is a 5k, and registration is only $15. Keep in mind there is a $5/car parking fee at Champoeg State Park, so carpool and save some money. Registration includes "awesome REI swag" (we're not sure what, though). Male and female winners will go home with a stainless steel pint glass. The website only lists the time as 9a-11a, so I would assume they'll be in touch with further details ... but plan on a start time of 9a just to be on the safe side. This race is capped at 150 participants and there is NO day-of-race registration. It will sell out quickly so don't wait too long. Saturday, May 14, 2016: REI Trail Run Series Silver Falls State Park

At the Silver Falls race, you can run a 5k or a 10k, and either one is only $15. Silver Falls also requires a State Park Day Pass, which is $5; or if you have a seasonal pass you’re good.

The 10k starts at 9:30a, followed by the 5k at 9:45a. Plan for hills and amazing views … bring your camera, for sure. Again, you get the “awesome REI swag” and again, the overall male and female winners will receive stainless steel pint glasses.

This race is also capped at 150, so don’t wait. Click here to go directly to the registration page for the REI Trail Series Silver Falls State Park 5k/10k.

I started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because I felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. I also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support LOCAL race organizers. I'm a Creighton Bluejay (undergrad) and an Oregon Duck (Sports Marketing MBA), and I live in Tigard with my husband and two kids. My "real job" is working for an incredibly awesome math textbook company doing marketing and production.
