Join me on Saturday, April 23 at beautiful Richardson Park (Fern Ridge Reservoir) for the 2nd annual Save the Bee 5K and Kids Dash, presented by GloryBee. Last year, in the inaugural event, over $6,000 was raised to fund Honey Bee Health research!
This is a unique running event in Eugene, as it runs through Richardson Park, and will be a gorgeous, new course for most everyone. Richardson Park is located in west Eugene, near Territorial Hwy and Clear Lake Road. It’s also a unique event in that we can band together and help Save the Bee! Bees are so vital to our Earth, and they are dwindling away. Let’s get together to help them, and as runners, we know how to join forces in support of a cause! All proceeds from the event go to Save the Bee!
Be sure to bring along the kids, as there will be a Kids Dash (fun run) taking place at 9:30 a.m., just before the 5K start time at 10 a.m. The Kids Dash is free, with sign up occurring the onsite race morning. Something super cool about the Kids Dash is that all the kids can color their own bib number! I wish adults could, fun! Online registration will close on Friday, April 22. You may register in-person on Friday, April 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the packet pick-up, which takes place at Oakshire Brewing Company located at 207 Madison Street in Eugene. Race morning registration is also available at Richardson Park, as is packet pick-up.
Eclectic Edge Racing will be chip timing the event. Prizes will be presented to the fastest male and female finisher, as well as in the “Bee-inspired” costume contest!
Entry fees are $20 for adults, and those participants who are 17 and under, or 60+, save $5. Make sure to pre-order your technical event shirt, available for $15, before the cut-off of April 8. For those choosing to register at the Friday packet pick-up or on race morning, add $5.
